Mika has revealed that he had only three days to write his song Kick Ass (We Are Young) for the film Kick-Ass. However, the star feels the effort is worth it after seeing the buzz building around the movie.
Mika was shown the movie in a private screening, then offered the title track – if he could write a song in three days. He says producers usually choose from his existing music for their soundtracks, but Mika says after watching the flick he had to take on the challenge.
The music video for Kick Ass (We Are Young) features Mika getting mugged and left in an alley between shots from the film. Kick-Ass is due in theaters April 16.

MOST music fans dream of being plucked from obscurity by their idol to dance with them on stage like something out of a Bruce Springsteen video. But pop sensation Mika – who serenades Big Girls everywhere – likes to do things a little differently.
Instead of hiring a troupe of professional back-up performers, the singer invited his most die-hard fans to boogie with him on stage. Scottish Sun girl SHELLEY MATHESON donned her dancing shoes to perform with the helium-voiced chart-topper.
ARMED with my Mika ticket and gold shoes I am determined to become a dancing queen. So when Mika’s manager selects me from a crowd of girls gathered at the stage door of Glasgow’s O2 Academy I am ecstatic. I’m escorted into the auditorium with seven die-hard fans who are bubbling with enthusiasm.

Oxfam have recently launched the Haiti Earthquake Appeal to raise money for the earthquake-affected Carribean island and Mika has donated the specially-made milk carton that featured in the video for his recent single, ‘Rain’. Better still, he’s signed it!
